COVID–19 and Domestic Violence Orders

As families are forced to spend more and more time together under a “stay at home” government guidelines, anxiety, uncertainty in these unprecedented times, may see an increase in incidents of family violence.

It is important to be aware of behaviors and actions of people around you. If you are experiencing family violence or are at risk of family violence, contact the Queensland Police Service, our office, or seek counselling and support from your doctor or counsellor.

Domestic violence orders continue in full force during the COVID-19 pandemic. If your domestic violence order restricts your ability to communicate to the other parent when you are unable to comply with the terms of the parenting orders, please contact us for legal advice.
